Box of Chocolates

According to Forest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get.”
That may be true. The future is largely unpredictable. But when you trust in the Lord, you don’t have to fear what may come.
“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.” Psalm 18:32
Recently, I felt discouraged but told the Lord that would accept whatever He gave me. The following week and a half was filled with a string of answered prayer. I thanked the Lord for one, then another answer would occur. I’m on a spiritual high right now. What will happen when this roller coaster of life turns downward? I’ll trust God with the same faith I have while basking in his blessings.

Nancey! That is so true. Ups and downs, but He’s with us on the mountains and in the valleys. His presence is all that counts anyway. Thanks for the sweet reminder.

Love it, Nancey! Hebrews 10 promises, “Persevere, so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised for you.” I’m finding that the more I seek His will, the more closely my prayers reflect what HE has in mind, not what I think should happen. I love that we’re being shaped into the image of our Jesus along the way.

And I’ve been going through the “If I’d done this differently” or “If I hadn’t done that” syndrome recently. It is discouraging, so these reminders that God is with us in all circumstances are what will help me. And seeking Him and His will, Lynn, is good advice. Thanks.

Hi Nancy, Love your chocolate post!! It really does feel peaceful knowing, trusting and having faith in having God in our corner. And I just know how blessed I am! Sometimes I just can’t believe how much!
And now I find myself knowing good things are going to happened before they do, and it is because I have the faith in the Lord’s promise.
Blessings to you and your writings!
    Bonnie
